Spikes and Kills whizzed by in split seconds. Bombs dropped strategically. Strategic fake body moves and language to psyche the opponent. Game won by a mere point.
Suspenseful, nerve-wracking excitement pervaded the courts. The Olympic-like calibre of the players made this competition the most electrifying ever!
After the last fault, here’s the Cream of the Crop:
The Energized Hollister are the Champs, followed closely by the powerhouse of Leytenos, Jesus is Lord 7A team settled reluctantly for third, The power-bombers BIBAK Team are very close fourth and the plucky, go-getter Googles gracefully accepted fifth (for now).
The largest ever PIDC Independence Day Cup Volleyball Tournament highlighted the Salu-Salo sa Earl Bales Independence Day Picnic. An unprecedented 13 teams responded and registered. There would have been more teams if not for the time constraints.
We can do better next year with advance planning to accommodate all teams wanting to participate. Please watch for upcoming announcements on the 2010 Independence Day Volleyball Cup.
