Mabuhay Cup Team Leader’s Update
May 23rd, 2010 | By admin | Category: Mabuhay Basketball TournamentAs of their last meeting held April 11 2010, the Mabuhay Cup organizers, the well oiled machine is well ahead in their planning. Just one more meeting and they are ready to go! They are expecting about 6,000 attendance this year.

The following participating clubs confirm their team entries for Mabuhay Cup July 9, 10 & 11 Invitational Tournament:
Tykes (2000) : BAYAN, Durham , Grizzlies , Jayhawks , LAKAN, North York, T.O.Falcons, Vaughan
Peewee (1998) : BAYAN, Durham , Grizzlies , Jayhawks , LAKAN , North York , T.O.Falcons , Vaughan
Bantam (1996) : BAYAN , Durham , Grizzlies , Jayhawks , LAKAN , North York , T.O.Falcons , Vaughan
Midget (1994) : BAYAN , Durham , Grizzlies , Jayhawks , LAKAN , North York , T.O.Falcons , Vaughan
Ladies (no age limit): Vaughan , * (T.O. Falcons?), * (Rory- to contact group)
*Need at least 3 more teams to proceed. Please let organizers know if there are other interested teams. Two Non-Filipino players are allowed in the Ladies division team roster.

Deadline For Participants
DEADLINE: JUNE 20, 2010 Non-refundable payment of entry fee in full must be made and due on the final meeting to secure team entry. Participating club assume responsibility to ensure that all of its members and/or participants sign a release and waiver before being allowed to participate in the tournament.
All Teams must submit required forms, including completed, signed Tournament Waiver Form, by June 20, 2010. Word document forms will be e-mailed to Team Leaders.

With the exception of the Tournament Waiver Form, all forms must be submitted electronically by e-mail to mabuhaycup@yahoo.ca by June 20, 2010. Paper form or photocopies will not be accepted.
All teams must comply to the accreditation rules and it is the responsibility of all Team Leaders to communicate all applicable rules and requirements to their players and membership. Players who were not accredited from from the Mabuhay Cup tournamaments are required to show their passport or acceptable pictured documents for eligibilty purposes. All players must be accredited before teir team’s first game.
Mabuhay Cup is a ticketed event. Tickets cost $5 for July 10 and 11 tournament games.
Coaches, Asst. Coaches, Team Reps, Team Muses, Referees and Table Officials must first proceed to accreditation booth to obtain wristband or entry passes. Players must wear their uniforms and show their entry stamp.
STRICLTY No outside food and drinks inside the gym. Food concessions and vending machines are available during the event. No alcoholic beverages are permitted at HoopDome.
All participants and spectators of this event must abide by the rules and regulations posted in the facility or otherwise communicated from time to time, including guidelines relating to safety, conduct and cleanliness.
Please e-mail and submit team pictures and greetings for the souvenir program by June 20, 2010.
Please e-mail and submit name & pictures of candidate for “Miss Mabuhay Cup Sports Model” by June 20, 2010. Word document form will be e-mailed to Team Leaders.
New Rules: (Maximum of 20 points in favor awarded to team to determine team standing)
Section 4.02 TEAM STANDING and TIE BREAKER is determined by (in order)
(a) Win/Loss record
(b) Head to Head In case of the two tied team played each other in the elimination round.
(c) Points Differential (Points in favor CAPPED at 20 points) where rule ‘b’ above doesn’t apply.
(d) Points Against (Team with lesser points against win the tie-breaker)
(e) Coin toss
