Singkil
Entertainment
Fiestas and Festivals is the Pinoy style of having fun. Aside from a food feast, what is a festival without music and dancing? Most of the traditional dances of the Philippines are deeeply rooted in its culture. Over time, it has been choreographed and stylized to include western influences and entertainment values. Nevertheless, it continues to convey in storytelling fashion, with beautiful fluid or dramatic movements and
costumes the story of the everyday lives of Filipinos. Hence, you will see our world famous Singkil, Tinikling, Fandanggo sa Ilaw, Maria Clara, the Ifugao tribal dances from the Mountain Province, to name a few, performed by no less than the premier and world renowned Filipino dance troupes in Toronto. Add to that the SantaCruzan,
led by the PIDC Pageant winners and involving the beauties in the community, this procession of regal beauties represents the religiosity of the Filipinos, commemorating St. Helena finding the Holy Cross.
To add to the entertainment are some of our local artists who will give us a taste of contemporary music and dance. And to round it off, we will surprise you with our featured guest artists from the Philipines.
