Young Filipina-Canadians who are bright, ambitious and looking for an opportunity to “shine” take note.  The Philippine Independence Day Council (“PIDC”) is now accepting applications for the 2012 Miss Philippines PIDC Pageant and the 2012 Little Miss Philippines PIDC.  Miss Philippines is one of the longest running Filipino-Canadian pageants in Canada having been established in 2000; originally called the Miss Maria Clara Pageant.

Previous contestants have used their experience to move on to great things.  Former pageant participants have gone on to star in Hollywood films, became spokespersons for major corporations, appeared in commercials nation-wide and obtained major modelling contracts.  The opportunities are endless.

The winners of this prestigious event will serve as Ambassadress of Goodwill in all activities within the Filipino and multicultural communities that PIDC is involved in.  They will promote not only the Filipino culture but Philippine tourism as well.  They will also serve as role models to the youth showcasing the beauty, talents and virtues of a young Filipina.

Interested participants for Miss Philippines PIDC must have the following qualifications:

  1. Must be of Filipino descent or at least 50% Filipino ancestry
  2. Must be between the ages of 15 and 24 years old on the year of the event
  3. Must be with talent
  4. Must be single, never married and have no offspring
  5. Must be of good moral character
  6. Must have a pleasing personality

Interested participants for Little Miss Philippines PIDC must have the following qualifications:

  1. Must be of Filipino descent or at least 50% Filipino ancestry
  2. Must between the ages of 4 and 11 years old on the year of the event
  3. Must be with talent
